Francisco José Lloreda, the president of Colombia’s oil producers’ association (ACP), has announced that private companies in the hydrocarbons sector are preparing to invest some US$715m by the end of 2020 in order to support the reactivation of the sector, hit hard by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and falling international prices. Lloreda called on the government to support these efforts by providing further state investment, and by removing restrictions on the sector when quarantine controls are
loosened in September.
