COLOMBIA: Duque faces surge in rural violence

A wave of massacres - or “collective homicides”, as the government refers to them - has swept across rural areas of country where illegal armed groups are particularly active. The violence has fuelled claims that President Iván Duque is not doing enough to protect vulnerable communities.
