President Andrés Manuel López Obrador presented his second state-of-the-nation report (Informe) on 1 September. López Obrador wanted to showcase his administration’s achievements in the last 12 months as he and the ruling Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) gear up to defend Morena’s congressional majority in next year’s federal midterm legislative elections.
