Questions abound following historic cocaine seizure in Paraguay

Paraguayan authorities have made the largest seizure of cocaine in the country’s history this week. While this has been hailed as a major blow to drug trafficking by President Mario Abdo Benítez, the incident has left various burning questions not least who is behind the large-scale drug trafficking operation and whether they have colluded with corrupt public officials in order to operate undetected until now. Questions that the authorities are now under pressure to answer.
