COSTA RICA: Chinchilla to target Mexican cartel penetration

President-elect Laura Chinchilla, who was elected on a public security platform, has made dealing with the encroaching Mexican drug cartels a top priority. She has picked a public security team that has been heavily involved in this field in recent years, and is hoping to persuade the US to increase the meagre security assistance it has been granting Costa Rica.
