* Bolivia’s health minister
Edgar Pozo has announced that all economic, cultural, religious, social, and recreational activities will be allowed to take place from 1 December, subject to
“compliance with the protocols and biosecurity measures issued by the health ministry”. The loosening in recent months of restrictions imposed to try and contain the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has not yet led to a resurgence in cases in Bolivia, encouraging the government to issue a decree enabling the full resumption of all activities, albeit subject to precautionary measures. Pozo noted that this loosening of restrictions will expire on 15 January if not extended, but suggested that this window will provide the health ministry with useful information on which activities can and cannot be conducted safely, in the event of a second wave of Covid-19 infections in Bolivia.
