MEXICO: Growth forecast will not offset 2020 contraction

Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) published its latest GDP growth figures on 29 February. The preliminary figures cover the last quarter of 2020 and show that GDP grew by 3.1% in real terms between October and December 2020 relative to the previous quarter. This means that Mexico’s economy contracted by -8.5% in 2020 relative to 2019.
