BRAZIL: New Petrobras leadership pledges continuity

The new executive board of Brazil’s state-owned oil firm Petrobras made its first public appearance on 14 May, in a press conference discussing the company’s first quarter results. Petrobras’ administration was overhauled after President Jair Bolsonaro fired Roberto Castello Branco as CEO following disagreements on fuel prices back in February [WR-21-08] and appointed Joaquim Silva e Luna, a retired army general, in his place, prompting concerns over government interventionism in the firm.
