In brief: Argentina’s Buenos Aires extends debt restructuring deadline

* Argentina’s Buenos Aires province has once again extended the deadline for the restructuring offer of its US$7bn in foreign debt, after failing to reach an agreement with creditors. In a statement, the provincial government announced it had pushed back the restructuring deadline to 4 June amid “restricted conversations” with certain bondholders, including members of the Ad-Hoc Committee. The provincial government stressed that it is seeking to “discuss conditions which allow to reach a deal that is sustainable in the medium and long term”. This is the 17th time that Buenos Aires province has extended this deadline.
