BRAZIL: Discontent with Bolsonaro spills onto the streets

Thousands of Brazilians took to the streets on 29 May to protest against President Jair Bolsonaro and his government’s response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. These are the largest anti-Bolsonaro street protests since the start of the pandemic last year, an indication of growing anger with a president whom many critics brand “genocidal”.
