COLOMBIA: CNP suspends protest negotiations

Negotiations between Colombia’s government and the national strike committee (CNP) to end the ongoing civil unrest have stalled once again, with the CNP suspending discussions after accusing government negotiators of deliberately obstructing progress in the dialogue. This is despite President Iván Duque showing some signs of engagement with the protesters’ demands, announcing a reform of the police on 6 June.
