In brief: Brazil sees positive activity in April

* Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the latest figures for the monthly indicator of economic activity (IBC-Br), a proxy for GDP, which shows a positive result for April. The IBC-Br saw a 0.44% monthly variation in April, following on from a negative -1.59% variation in March. In the first four months of 2021, the IBC-Br grew 4.77%, while in the 12 months to April, it registered a 1.20% contraction.
