Ecuador’s former president Lenín Moreno (2017-2021) is facing scrutiny over whether his administration supplied weapons to the Bolivian government led by former interim president Jeanine Áñez (2019-2020). An investigation is already underway in Bolivia, with Interior Minister Eduardo del Castillo accusing Moreno of supplying the Bolivian security forces with “war munitions” that were used to suppress anti-government protests.
