The South American connection
Medina Mora did not talk about the Mexican drug gangs' links to the
gangs in South America that produce cocaine and heroin, but South Americans now
say that the Mexican gangs, because of their domination of the routes into the
US, are now the dominant players in the drug trade. What is significant is that
the Mexican gangs are also starting to control smuggling to Europe.
