Other evidence corroborates the Venezuelan government's argument that
the US view of Venezuela as a drug smugglers' haven is wrong. Although the
Venezuelans have barred the US DEA from working in the country for the past
three years, this has not prevented Venezuelan anti-drugs agencies from forging
links with anti-drug agencies in other countries, most obviously
Mexico.
