HAITI: Judge named to head up Moïse murder case

Mathieu Chanlatte has been named as the judge in charge of the multinational investigation into the 7 July assassination of President Jovenel Moïse (2017-2021) which, over a month on, has yielded little progress. The appointment of Chanlatte to oversee the case, which will provide a big test for Haiti’s judiciary and expose it to significant scrutiny, has met with scepticism from some.
