COLOMBIA: Presidential hopefuls fail to shine

The first round of Colombia’s presidential election is due in a little over six months, on 29 May, after congressional polls on 13 March. It is estimated that around 55 presidential hopefuls are looking to win the support of different combinations of political parties and alliances. But so far the competition is strangely flat, and the electorate appears deeply unenthusiastic.
