Industrial production fell by 0.6% in October compared with September and has accumulated losses of 3.7% over the five months to October. In year-on-year terms, industrial production shrank by 7.8% in October. According to the Ibge’s research coordinator,
André Macedo, the industrial sector’s continued poor performance is a direct consequence of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and its impacts.
