* Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina (EGE Haina), a Dominican mixed public-private company, has raised US$20m in the first placement of green bonds in the Dominican Republic. The bonds will go towards financing the expansion of the Larimar I wind farm in Enriquillo municipality, Barahona province, which comprises 15 wind turbines with a generation capacity of 3.3 MW each. According to EGE Haina, demand was 15.27 times higher than the offer, which it said “
indicates investors’ interest in these types of investments which promote the country’s sustainable development”.
