*The World Bank (WB) has published a new report which expects that Central America’s GDP growth for 2022 will “
remain robust”, at 4.7%, owing to “
an improved outlook” for coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccinations and “
continued robust remittance inflows”. The WB forecasts that Panama will register the highest growth rate (7.8%, down from 9.9% in 2021 on estimates), followed by: Honduras (4.4%, down from 4.7%); El Salvador (4.0%, down from 8.0%); Guatemala (3.9%, down from 7.6%); Costa Rica (3.5%, down from 5.0%); and Nicaragua (3.0% down from 5.5%).
