* Argentina’s economy ministry has announced that the country’s primary fiscal deficit reached Ar$496.34bn (US$4.76bn) in December 2021. When the income from the government’s special drawing rights (SDR) agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are excluded, Argentina closed 2021 with a primary fiscal deficit of AR$1.41trn, representing 3% of GDP, and a financial deficit at AR$2.09trn, representing 4.5% of GDP. on December 2020, when the primary fiscal deficit stood at 6.5% of GDP and the financial deficit at 8.5% of GDP.
