In brief: Inflation slows in Peru

* Peru’s national statistics institute (Inei) has released the consumer price index (IPC) for January, which put monthly inflation at 0.18% and annual inflation at 6.33%. This represented the lowest monthly increase in inflation since April 2021. The highest year-on-year price rises in January were in housing, utilities and fuel (+12.27%), food and non-alcoholic drinks (+8.34%), restaurants and hotels (+5.93%), recreation and culture (+5.66%), and furniture and household products (+4.43%).
