In brief: Mexico’s trade surplus shrinks in February

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures which show that the country’s exports in February totalled US$46.25bn, up 27.8% year-on-year. Meanwhile imports totalled US$44.95bn, up 34.2% year-on-year. This leaves a trade surplus of US$1.29bn in February 2022, down from US$2.69bn in February 2021.
