In brief: Inflation continues to rise in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has published the latest consumer price index, showing that monthly inflation in March stood at 1.0%. Year-on-year inflation reached 8.53%, its highest level since July 2016. The steepest monthly price increases were in the categories of food and non-alcoholic drinks (+2.84%), domestic products (+1.83%), and restaurants and hotels (+1.42%). Prices fell for clothing and shoes (-1.78%) and in information and communications (ICT) technology (-0.19%).
