In brief: Sale of Oi Móvel is concluded in Brazil
* The telephone operation segment of Brazilian telecoms company Oi has been sold to competitors Claro, TIM, and Vivo, for R$15.9bn (US$3.4bn). The sale of Oi Móvel, which has been struggling to emerge from bankruptcy protection for years, to Brazil’s three other main telecoms companies was greenlighted by the antitrust regulator in February this year. Oi has stated that the conclusion of its sale to Claro, TIM and Vivo marks a crucial step in its recovery from bankruptcy.
