In brief: Economic activity picks up in Brazil

* Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has updated its index of economic activity (IBC-Br), which shows that economic activity increased by 0.34% in February compared with the previous month, and by 0.66% year-on-year. The February figures mark a return to positive growth after the BCB posted a 0.99% monthly decline in economic activity in January.
