JAMAICA | Burgeoning growth but for how long? The Jamaican economy expanded by 6% in the first quarter of 2022, according to the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ). GDP growth was driven by services, which increased by 8.9% year-on-year, and reflected a recovery in the tourism sector after the removal of restrictions imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
