* Brazil’s federal electricity regulator (Aneel) has announced that it expects to generate R$15.3bn (US$2.91bn) from the auction on 30 June of contracts to construct, operate and maintain 5,425km of transmission lines and substations with transformer capacity of 6,180 MVA. The tender will be divided into 13 lots, in the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, and Rondônia. Aneel has said it expects the projects to directly generate 31,697 jobs.
