In brief: Brazil sees strong job creation in May

* Brazil’s labour ministry has published the latest figures from the employment registry, which show that 277,018 formal jobs were created in May. This is the result of 1.96m job openings and 1.68m job losses during the month, and brings the total number of formal jobs in Brazil to 41.72m. The May figures were an improvement on April, when 196,966 formal jobs were created and the total stock of formal jobs stood at 41.45m.
