In brief: Brazil’s trade surplus down year-on-year

* Brazil’s economy ministry has published the latest balance of trade figures, showing that the country registered a trade surplus of US$8.81bn in June – down 15.4% on the same month last year. Exports in June totalled US$32.67bn, representing a 15.6% year-on-year increase. Imports totalled US$23.86bn, an increase of 33.3%.
