Rehashed environmental plans miss the mark in Mexico

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador recently unveiled a package of ten measures aimed at addressing the global climate emergency. The measures, which were announced during the third virtual meeting of the major economies forum on energy and climate (MEF) hosted by US President Joe Biden on 17 June, include initiatives that López Obrador’s government has already implemented and those it is in the process of carrying out, as well as some new projects.
