PANAMA: Cortizo on back foot as protests proliferate

President Laurentino Cortizo has been compelled to act in response to protests which have erupted across Panama over spiralling inflation and living costs in the worst crisis to face the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) government since coming to power in July 2019. The measures have yet to placate protesters, suggesting more concessions could be on the cards.
