MEXICO: ‘Remain in Mexico’ is no more

Migrants seeking asylum in the US will no longer be forced to wait across the border in Mexico while their claims are processed. The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) this week announced that no more migrants will be enrolled in the migrant protection protocol (MPP), or ‘Remain in Mexico’ programme. Those currently enrolled in the MPP will be disenrolled when they return to the US for their next court date.
