Henry faces renewed calls to quit in Haiti

Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry has faced two massive protests in the capital, Port-au-Prince and across the country in recent days, calling for his resignation. Added to familiar complaints regarding insecurity and gang violence [WR-22-26], which has escalated since the assassination last year of president Jovenel Moïse (2017-2021), public anger has also been fanned by resultant food insecurity stemming from the impact of this violence on supply chains and food pricing, and soaring inflation.
