In brief: Inflation picks up in Uruguay

* Uruguay’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest consumer price index (IPC), which shows that monthly inflation was 0.84% in September while annual inflation stood at 8.65%. This compares to monthly inflation of 0.83% and yearly inflation of 7.74% in August. According to the INE, accumulated inflation over the past 12 months stands at 9.95%. Annual inflation remains above the central bank (BCU)’s target range of 3-6%.
