MEXICO | New economy minister named. On 7 October, Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador appointed Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez as the new economy minister. Buenrostro, who had served as head of Mexico’s tax authority (SAT) since December 2019, takes over the role from Tatiana Clouthier, who announced her resignation the previous day. López Obrador thanked Clouthier for her contribution, saying her resignation was due to “personal reasons”.
