In brief: Mexico posts GDP growth in Q3

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures on its quarterly estimation of GDP growth, showing that economic activity increased 1% in the third quarter of 2022 in real terms, as compared to the previous quarter. This represents the third consecutive quarter of growth after GDP registered a 0.9% increase in the first quarter of 2022 and a 1% increase in the second quarter. In quarterly terms, economic activity was up 1.8% in the primary sector (agriculture), 1.2% in the tertiary sector (services), and 0.9% in the secondary sector (manufacturing). In year-on-year terms and with seasonally adjusted figures, GDP grew 4.3% in real terms, with increases of 4.3% in the tertiary sector, 4% in the secondary sector, and 3.5% in the primary sector. Inegi notes that these figures may change when it reports its final quarterly GDP results on 25 November.
