*Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has released new figures which show remittances to Mexico reached US$5.03bn in September 2022, an annual increase of 14.1%. In monthly terms, remittances to Mexico increased by 4.2%. A total of US$42.97bn in remittances was sent to Mexico between January and September 2022, 15.0% more than the US$37.35bn sent over the same period in 2021. Remittances to Mexico are currently on track to reach another record high this year and exceed the US$51.59bn sent to the country in 2021.
