VENEZUELA: Further details on humanitarian programme

Venezuela’s government has provided some details on its recent agreement with the opposition to jointly access frozen funds in order to address the humanitarian crisis affecting the country [WR-22-48]. On 2 December a member of the government’s negotiating delegation, William Castillo, said that President Nicolás Maduro’s administration had held talks with several United Nations (UN) agencies which will oversee the release of an estimated US$3bn in frozen assets.
