In brief: Mexico’s headline inflation slows

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for the consumer price index (INPC), which shows that prices rose 0.58% in November as compared to the previous month. This brings annual inflation to 7.8% - down from 8.14% in the first two weeks of November and 8.41% at the end of October, in the lowest annual rate since May. Core inflation, which leaves out certain volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.45% in November, a deceleration from October, when it increased by 0.63%. However, the 12-month rate came in at 8.51%, above the 8.42% seen in October.
