In brief: Inflation in Argentina continues to rise

* Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has published the latest consumer price index (IPC), which showed that monthly inflation stood at 4.9% in November, bringing the annual rate to 92.4%. The monthly rate represents a decrease on the 6.3% recorded in October, when the annual rate stood at 88%. The steepest monthly increases were in home, water, electricity, gas & other fuels (+8.7%), which was mainly driven by an increase in electricity and gas tariffs; communication (+6.4%) and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (+6.3%). Education (+3.8%) and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+3.5%) recorded the lowest monthly increases.
