*Mexico’s national chamber of commerce, services and tourism (Concanaco-Servytur) has estimated that Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations will generate revenues of over M$600bn (US$30.57bn) for the tertiary sector (services) this year. This estimate is based on information gathered from 257 member chambers based across Mexico’s 32 states and the return to normal service this year following the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Héctor Tejada Shaar, called on consumers to contribute to the country’s economy by using legally established businesses.
“For the more than 4.5m companies in the commerce, services and tourism sectors, the Christmas and New Year holidays represent great benefits,” he said.
