In brief: Remittances to Mexico rise year-on-year

* Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) has released new figures which show that remittances to Mexico totalled US$4.8bn in November 2022, a 3% increase year-on-year. However, in monthly terms, remittances to Mexico were down 3.9% on October 2022, when remittances to Mexico totalled US$5.36bn. According to Banxico, a total of US$53.14bn was sent in remittances to Mexico between January and November 2022, a 13.5% increase on the US$46.83bn sent in the same period of 2021. This total also surpasses the record annual total of US$51.59bn in remittances sent to Mexico in 2021.
