PERU: New `ultimatum' from Sendero leader

For the second time in four months the leader of a remnant of Sendero Luminoso guerrillas known as `Camarada Artemio' has issued an ultimatum to the government to find `a political solution [to] the internal war' or face a resumption of hostilities. Whereas last time he chose Britain's Channel Four, this time a masked `Artemio' issued his message via Américas Televisión and Radioprogramas del Perú (RPP).
