In brief: Inflation rises in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has released the consumer price index for December, which shows monthly inflation of 1.26% and annual inflation of 13.12%. Annual inflation was predominantly driven by rising costs for housing, water, electricity and gas (+6.94%) and food and non-alcoholic drinks (+27.81%). Monthly inflation was predominantly due to rising costs for food and non-alcoholic drinks (+2.66%) and restaurants and hotels (+2.51%).
