In brief: Brazil’s first industrial-scale green hydrogen project announced
* The government of the Brazilian state of Bahia has announced that the Brazilian chemical company Unigel will invest US$1.5bn in green hydrogen production in the state. According to the state government, this will be “the first industrial-scale green hydrogen project in Brazil.” The first stage of the project will see Unigel invest US$120m in construction, including the installation of electrolysis equipment. The statement added that “currently, Unigel is still negotiating strategic partnerships in terms of suitable financing and access to capital markets… to guarantee the competitivity and the realisation of new phases of the project”.
