The US postponed the extradition of the alleged drug smuggler, Zhenli Ye
Gon, to Mexico by indicting him for drug smuggling and money laundering charges
on 24 July. The Mexican government wants Zhenli after he made a series of
sensational allegations linking drug smugglers and the financing of the
victorious Partido Acción Nacional's election campaign in 2006. Further
revelations in Mexico have highlighted the links between Zhenli and members of
the government of President Vicente Fox and the ease with which Zhenli appeared
to get around customs regulations. Some politicians are speculating that Zhenli
may have business links with President Fox's controversial stepsons, the
Bribiesca brothers. The main evidence for this is that the Bribiescas imported
Chinese products.End of preview - This article contains approximately 1210 words.
