In brief: Mexico’s economic activity down in monthly terms

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for its monthly global indicator of economic activity (IGAE) which show economic activity fell by 0.5% in November 2022 compared with the previous month. In seasonally-adjusted monthly terms, economic activity in the primary sector (agriculture) grew by 5.3%, while the secondary sector (industry) was unchanging and the tertiary (services) sector contracted by 0.9%. In year-on-year terms, economic activity increased by 3.5% in November, with economic activity up by 3.3% in the tertiary sector, by 6.5% in the primary sector, and by 2.9% in the secondary sector.
