THE INFORME: Peaceful and different
President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa eventually opted for a two-stage
delivery of his first Informe (State of the Union address) on 1 and 2 September.
On 1 September, he visited congress for eight minutes to deliver the Informe
report, which includes wealth of data on all aspects of Mexican life. On Sunday
2 September he delivered the traditional speech, which lasted an hour and
20 minutes, to an invited audience at the national palace in the heart of Mexico
City.
