In brief: Blackout hits Mexico City

* Mexico’s state-run electricity firm the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has announced that normal electricity supply has been restored to Mexico City (CDMX) following blackouts that affected 270,117 people across various areas of the city. CFE attributed the blackout to a fault in an electrical substation in the centre of the city. According to the CFE, those affected by the blackouts represented less than 8% of the city’s population.
